Tom Wiscombe, LA architect and professor, lead a workshop with the main topic being Black Holes. We were tasked with creating a 3D-model that displayed the characteristics of black holes through the use of near-figuartion. The project was created using Maya and Keyshot. Our workflow was one that Tom has developed through his own work.

I used the work from Jodorowsky’s Dune as inspiration for my model. I attempted to create a comical-like version of a black hole by dramaticizing the traditional vision of one. The model includes three stages. The Build Up, where things begin to come together; The Action, where objects are clustered together, swirling into one another and creating a blurring-effect;  and The Reaction, where certain pieces are able to break through and escape.
