This workshop was lead by the installation artist, Sarah Oppenheimer. It was part of her research for a new installation piece that she is designing for the Wexner Center for the Arts and implementing in December of 2017. The workshop was an intense investigation into the properties of a rotating PIVOT/ SWITCH and how it could affect the gallery space in the Wexner Center.
We were broken up into groups of four, comprised of both architecture and fine art students. After a series of quick investigations into the placement of a pivot point, and the affects on the rotational path, the final presentation showcased a “switch” that would link Gallery A and B. This “switch” would ultimately change the circulation paths through the galleries.
